What are you saving the date for? What are you invited to? Valid questions, my friends, valid questions.
So, as you know, Ian and I got married last summer at a tiny little city hall ceremony. Because many very important people were unable to be with us that day (on such short notice — and no, I wasn't knocked up) and because we weren't into the idea of a traditional wedding we decided to throw a party the following summer — this summer — July 26th, 2008. So, call it whatever you want — an Anniversary Party or a One-Year-Delayed Wedding Party or a Happy Summer Everyone Party — the idea is for as many of our friends and family from nearby and afar to come together and spend some time together. It's not a wedding or a wedding reception or anything that formal or fancy. Just a gathering of good people celebrating good times. And we'd love you to join. We also understand that it's a lot to ask people to travel from far away, so while it would be our honor to have you, we also understand those who are unable to attend.
For details on what will be happening on that day, please go to these pages:
Daytime picnic for out of town guests
Drinks and dancing in the evening for everyone
Kids are welcome at both events.
